Homespun is a lightweight fabric of fine cotton yarns. It was once a rough, loosely woven fabric originally made with yarn spun at home, and this is how the "homespun" term came about. Characteristics of modern homespun fabric include an imperfect finish with color imperfections and slight irregularities with no distinct front or back. Designs are created by weaving colored threads together. They are part of the character and charm of true homespun.

A general rule of thumb is that the table runner should be 1/3 the width of your table and overhang the ends 6 to 10 inches.
